ROBERT HOPE, oil on card, 18cm by 12.5cm.
a portrait of Charles, Edward & Jo Miller of Manderston House, Scotland,
Manderston House was the last great stately home built in Britain,
instruction to the architect John Kinross once commissioned to built
Manderston when he enquired what his budget was he was told there
was no budget. Our research shows that the ballroom ceiling of Manderston
House was painted by Robert Hope depicting Apollo with cupids, Venus
goods of love and other cupids, signed and dated, the ceiling 1905.
Though our research was not complete by the time of going to auction
i thin kit is very possible that a full size portrait of this nature
