most definitely a later replacement coming most certainly from a
dining room table of the late Victorian period, however the under
carriage of the table is some what confusing as the side supports
have been roughly split, a practice which was adhered to in the
18th century, most certainly this table would have begun life with
a marble top which was probably broken at some stage hence the later
mahogany top been added, as is often the practice in Irish workshops
particularly Dublin workshops of the time, pieces of 18th century
timber were used up in the early part of the 19th century. This
can cause confusion, however the carving to the legs are probably
more 19th century than 18th century and i believe the table is dated
