A magnificent inlaid satinwood bureau bookcase, the astrangal glazed doors with central motifs beneath a trailing band of tulip bells, the swan neck pediment heavily inlaid, flanked and centred by Adam style urns. The fall front bureau with a superbly fitted architectural interior above four graduated drawers, the entire resting on well proportioned bracket feet, early Victorian. Auctioneers note: This bureau represents the best example of sheer quality of workmanship and top quality materials used by its unknown maker. Such a bookcase may only have been produced by one of London's most notable cabinet makers, and oak drawer linings underline that fact. Only the most elite of English society could have afforded such a piece of furniture and it ranks
