carved frieze with shell motif above a carved and turned pod, the
entire resting on four cabriole well carved legs, mid Victorian
(Auctioneers Note: It is exceptionally difficult to find matching
pairs of card tables, particularly ones of this quality and design.
These table are in exceptional good condition and date from around
1850. the estimate for these table has been based upon their condition,
their rarity value and least of all their age. The auctioneer has
no hesitation on recommending this fine pair of tables as an excellent
investment and one which may be enjoyed for many years to come).

above an inverted top with inset drawers, the entire resting on
eight substantial turned legs with gilt metal mounts (Auctioneers
Note: This desk is of exceptional quality. The cabinet maker obviously
of the highest merit was only too willing to display his capabilities
in the manufacture of this desk. It certainly ranks as one of the
highest quality desks that has been sold in this Auction Rooms.
It most certainly must have originated in France or Belgium and

above four graduated drawers with substantial gilt metal handles,
the entire resting on bracket feet, George III (Auctioneers Note:
This bookcase has largely escaped the ravages of well over 200 years.
It is of exceptional quality and with a few very minor repairs it
would be restored to its former glory. Bookcases of this nature are
difficult to find in such condition. The metal carrying handles on
either side of the bookcase were more than likely a later edition
and were added purely because of the sheer weight of such quality
