rare bacon settle, this carved oak settle with a bacon larder
above was used to store dried meat in the 18th century,
which of course was kept inside the dwelling. While the
larder is definitely 18th century, the settle may be a little
later or was rebuild in the 19th century. The official description
is therefore rare 18th century bacon settle with later adjustments.
Few bacon settles have even been recorded never mind seen
and I believe it is very unlikely that there is another
